64th National School Games Federation India (SGFI) Boys and Girls ’Under -14,17,19 Squash Championship 2018-19 to be held at Govt. Model High School ChandigarhThe 64th National School Games Federation India Squash Championship 2018-19 was organized by (SGFI) at Chandigarh from 26th to 30th September 2018 (SGFI) is a prestigious Sports body in India and the teams from States /Union Territories/Units (Such a IPSC,CBSE,KVS,IBSSO,VIDYA BHARTI etc) and States-TAMIL NADU,MAHARASHTRA,CHANDIGARH,MADHYA PRADESH,GUJRAT,ASSAM participate In Squash Championsip Conducted by (SGFI) at International Level ,(SGFI) is a member of International School Sports Federation and teams from (SGFI) regularly participate at International Level. It is a matter of great pride and delight that for the first time the Students of RKKGPS participated in (SGFI) Squash Championship for Girls’Under-14,17,19 Categries as a part of the IPSC Squash team. The IPSC girls’ team comprised total 15 players 5 players in each age category RKK feels proud of the fact that 9 players from RKKGPS were Selected for the first time to represent IPSC UNIT to participate in (SGFI)Squash Championship. A total of 400 boys’ and girls’ participated in the (SGFI) Squash Championship .They represented 6 States teams and 5 UNIT teams from all over India .The Championship was held both as a team event and individual event. In Girls’Under 14- Category the IPSC team bagged 2nd position out 10 teams Yashi Jain of Class VI from RKKGPS Got Silver Medal in team event.In Girls’ Under 17- Category the IPSC team stood on 6th position out of 11 teams .In Girls’ Under -19 Category the IPSC team reached Semi Finals and secured 4th position out of 11 teams.These achievements for the first –time participation RKKGPS in (SGFI) Squash Championship are indeed Commendable.We are sanguine that this trend will Continue and our Students will bring many more laurels to the School in future also.
